Business Challenge

Colombia’s largest bank with 25,000 employees set automation as a core strategic imperative. First up: Money transfers. Existing process required in-person customer visit with an Advisor to register and verify accounts. However, Advisors spent the entire meeting manually entering data instead of providing customer service or revenue opportunities.

Solution

With Attended Automation, Bancolombia targeted reducing customer wait time and providing a more consistent experience across branches by shifting money transfer responsibilities to branch tellers enabled by attended RPA bots. The approach would simultaneously allow advisors to focus on revenue activities while at the same time eliminate human error.

Results

~10,000 attended automation instances across all 639 bank branches saved 6,319 hours in 6 months and produced approximately 100 new revenue opportunities each month, per branch, including new accounts, investment products, debit and credit cards, loans, financing, etc.
